UFC 134 results: Edson Barboza wins close decision over Ross Pearson

UFC 134 was already rocking before Edson Barboza and Ross Pearson ever stepped inside the cage to wage war against each other, but once they hit the Octagon, they were expected to deliver ... and big.
Barboza, a super fast Muay Thai murderer, came out swinging, with his trademark kicks and punches winging through the air at the speed of light. Pearson did the same, although his shots didn't come as quick. But they had just as much power.
The first round saw both men going back and forth, with Pearson neutralizing Barboza's quickness with aggression and forward movement. His boxing was on point as well. In fact, I don't think the British banger has ever been as accurate with his strikes.
The story stayed the same in the second frame.
Eventually, Barboza's ability to get his strikes off without the least bit of warning would work to slow Pearson down and sure enough, he dropped Ross with a big shot in the early going. However, Pearson showed that his chin is "The Real Deal" and jumped right back up to keep on banging.
Just how we like it.
That brief flash to begin the frame was the best of what Barboza would bring to the table for the remainder of the frame, as his foe continued to utilize a more effective boxing game with superior head movement and strong combinations.
This being a 155-pound fight, there was no way these two were getting tired and they didn't. Their aggressive nature shone through to the very end. By that time, it was up in the air enough that any decision rendered by the cage-side judges could be argued by fans of either side.
In the end, the victory was awarded to Brazil's own Edson Barboza via split decision.
