Speaking via Tatame Magazine,
Nogueira said:
“He’s all excited about it… This fight is being a great thing, because he’s coming from an injury, but he put much effort to be here and fight. He couldn’t be left out of this event. He’s well trained, focused, and I’m sure he’ll win”.
“He’s crazy to fight in Brazil… He has fought in many events, had title fights in UFC and in Pride, and he’s used to be under a lot of pressure, but fighting at home will give him the chills. Schaub is a tough guy, I’m sure of that. He’s a young guy who has really heavy hands, but my brother is more technical than him on striking and on the ground game. Rodrigo will submit him.”
Nogueira will step back into the octagon after sixteen months away when he takes on Brendan Schaub on the UFC 134 card next month in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Expect the notion of retirement to cross the mind of Dana White if this legendary Jiu-Jitsu fighter walks away with anything less than a win in this one.
