UFC 133 'Prelims' ratings average 1.4 million viewers on Spike TV
Spike TV's "UFC Prelims" special for UFC 133: "Evans vs. Ortiz 2" on Aug. 6, 2011, averaged 1.4 million viewers, up slightly from the 1.2 million it scored for the UFC 132: "Cruz vs. Faber 2" undercard offering back on July 2.
The two-fight broadcast from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, featured the final appearance of former "Ultimate Fighter" Matt Hamill, who was retired by Alexander Gustafsson via second round technical knockout.
Chad Mendes continued to show he's "Money" in the UFC featherweight division, playing it safe but still dominating Rani Yahya to secure a three round unanimous decision win.
"UFC Prelims" for Aug. 6 pulled in a 1.0 household rating, including a 1.13 in males 18-49 and a 1.0 in males 18-34.
UFC 133: "Evans vs. Ortiz 2" featured a light heavyweight rematch between former division champions "Suga" Rashad Evans and "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz.
Evans dominated the fight and secured a second round win -- along with a crack at the winner of Jon Jones vs. Quinton Jackson in early 2012.
Vitor Belfort blasted his way back into the win column by stiffening Yoshihiro Akiyama while Dennis Hallman and his manties were pounded out by Brian Ebersole.
