The news comes via ESPN’s Josh Gross who revealed this titbit via his Twitter page earlier today. M-1 Global is said to be reaching out to a number of managers of heavyweight fighters.
Whitehead’s record currently stands at 26-7 overall and is currently on a two fight winning streak after defeating Chase Gormley and Eddie Sanchez. He was once considered to be a force in the light heavyweight division outside the octagon before he came up short against Renato “Babalu” Sobral.
Wiuff has had a storied career and is a veteran of the sport with a record of 64-14-1 overall. He rebounded from a disappointing knockout loss to Tim Hague in October when he defeated unknown, Richard White via submission due to strikes.
The reason I call this situation “laughable” is the fact that Fedor and M-1 Global are seemingly uninterested in pursuing fights against the best heavyweights available outside of the Zuffa banner, with seemingly no approach made to Golden Glory over a fight with former Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem.
