Fedor Emelianenko will not retire, expected to compete in Russia and Japan by year's end

Former PRIDE Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko is looking for a rebound fight in his native Russia and with any luck, could be competing in Japan's FieLDS Dynamite!! card on New Year's Eve.
That's according to manager Vadim Finkelchtein in today's release from M-1 Global:
"We consulted with Fedor and it was decided that he should not leave the sport in this way. His friends and past opponents support Fedor in continuing his career and he agreed. We want to organize a fight for Fedor in Russia and have already begun working in this direction. If everything goes as planned, we will produce a card in Moscow or St. Petersburg sometime in the fall with Fedor as the main event. In addition to the fight in Russia, we’re also working with our Japanese contacts to organize a New Year’s Eve event in Japan that Fedor would participate in as well. If all is successful, in 2012 we’ll be back in the U.S. All these ideas are being developed right now and we want to work exactly according to this plan."
And don't be surprised to see his next fight televised on Showtime, who still holds a contract with "The Last Emperor" despite his recent release from the Strikeforce promotion.

After amassing one of the most impressive career resumes in the history of organized fighting, Emelianenko suffered a three-fight losing streak by tapping to Fabricio Werdum, having the doctor save him from Antonio Silva and then going limp at the hands of Dan Henderson.
That was all the ammunition UFC President Dana White needed to show him the door and send him back to Mother Russia. But all's well that ends well -- and M-1 Global is hoping it all ends well in Fedor's upcoming fight behind the iron curtain.
Anyone want to take a stab at his next opponent?
A win would likely help his management in its push to get him on a New Year's Eve card in Japan, where fellow Strikeforce castaway Alistair Overeem has also been known to throw down. Fedor Emelianenko vs. Alistair Overeem on December 31 in DREAM?
