Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) could be coming to a FOX network near you.
Sports Business Journal today (Aug. 16, 2011) revealed the two sides are reportedly in agreement on a multi-year broadcast deal worth upwards of $90 million with four live events slated annually for the FOX Network.
In addition, weekly programming would find a home on the "FX" channel while Fuel TV would also receive its share of combat sports specials.
UFC President Dana White was asked about the particulars of today's news at the UFC 136 pre-fight press conference in Houston, Texas.
Here's what he said:
"Everyone is asking me to comment on the Sports Business Journal article. Well, there's a reason I haven't, just like I didn't comment on the Wall Street Journal article on us buying G4."
Heavy.com also brought word today that anonymous sources inside the FOX network are confirming the initial report, which is expected to last between seven or eight years.
Just last week, the world's largest fight promotion announced a distribution deal with FOX Sports Latin America that gives the cable television network the rights to air UFC content in 18 countries in Latin America.
