UFC 137 – Cheick Kongo vs. Matt Mitrione in the works for October 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada

A heavyweight tilt between heavy handed Frenchman, Cheick Kongo and currently undefeated as a professional mixed martial artist, Matt Mitrione is in the final stages of being completed for the UFC 137 card on October 29th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

MMABay.co.uk was told of the news by a source close to the situation earlier today who added verbal agreements are in place on both sides and the official paperwork would be signed shortly.
Kongo is coming off an impressive come-from-behind win over Pat Barry last time out, getting knocked down in the early stages only to land two massive right hands to turn the tide. It was his first fight back following a long layoff due to injury.
As for Mitrione, his stock continues to rise after he defeated Christian Morecraft via TKO just a couple of weeks ago on the UFC on Versus 4 show. He also holds wins over the likes of “Kimbo Slice” and Joey Beltran.
