UFC 134 – Antonio “Pato” Carvalho out, Felipe “Sertanejo” Arantes in for Yuri Alcantara in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Brazilian featherweight, Felipe “Sertanejo” Arantes has been snapped up by the UFC to fill in for the injured Canadian, Antonio “Pato” Carvalho on the UFC 134 card on August 27th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and will be taking on fellow countryman, Yuri Alcantara in a preliminary card bout.
The news was passed along to Sherdog.com on Thursday by Chute Boxe Academy leader Rudimar Fedrigo, explaining bout agreements are in place.
Alcantara is a one-time WEC fighter who impressed on the promotions last ever card when he pulled off a knockout win over Ricardo Lamas. Prior to that he reeled off a string of wins under the Jungle Fights promotion banner.
Arantes is undefeated in his last nine outings although an April title fight with “Ultimate Fighter” season 12 alum, Andy Main was ruled a no-contest after the Brazilian landed an illegal knee mid-way through the fight.
