UFC on Versus 5 – John Makdessi forced out of August 14th showdown with Paul Taylor

It has today been revealed that Canadian striker, John Makdessi will have to wait a little bit longer to step back into the octagon after he picked up an injury, forcing him out of his UFC on Versus 5 showdown with Paul Taylor on August 14th in Milwaukee.
According to MMAJunkie.com, various sources close to the fighter have indicated that an undisclosed injury is to blame although his manager was unavailable for comment. It is unclear whether the promotion will seek oout a replacement for Taylor to face.
Makdessi is undefeated at 9-0 in his mixed martial arts career and has already picked up back-to-back wins inside the octagon over Pat Audinwood and Kyle Watson.
Taylor rescued his octagon career when he defeated Gabe Ruediger at UFC 126 in February, stopping the often outspoken fighter with a head kick. Prior to that he’d been on a run of losses that had taken him to the brink of beig cut from the roster.
