UFC on Versus 4: "Kongo vs. Barry" from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $50,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 24 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's leaving "Steel City" with a second sack of simoleons.
In an absolute landslide, Cheick Kongo was awarded "Knockout of the Night" after his stunning come from behind one-hitter quitter of Pat Barry in the main event of the evening.
"HD" was pasting the French kickboxing machine, pushing him towards the ledge but never quite pushing him off. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a right hand and a tiger uppercut and good night, Barry.
Also hauling in a wheelbarrow full of cash is Joe Lauzon, who earned his "Submission of the Night" by nearly tearing Curt Warburton's arm clean out of its socket on the Facebook broadcasted portion of the evening.
"J-Lau" nearly knocked "The War" out but when that failed he took other measures to ensure he was leaving the 'Burgh with some extra bacon.
Finally, despite all the controversy surrounding the ending, Charles Oliveira and Nik Lentz were awarded "Fight of the Night" for their thrilling war of attrition that saw "Do Bronx" submit "The Carny" in the second round.
Unfortunately, the Brazilian landed an illegal knee just before sinking in the choke, which directly affected the eventual result of the contest. It didn't affect either fighter's pockets, though, as they're both lined with cash after an entertaining scrap.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC on Versus 4:
Knockout of the Night -- Cheick Kongo
Submission of the Night -- Joe Lauzon
Fight of the Night -- Charles Oliveira vs. Nik Lentz
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
