UFC welterweight newcomer, Erick Silva has been giving his thoughts on his upcoming UFC 134 clash with veteran fighter, Mike Swick on August 27th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, explaining he plans on following the game plan set down by his coaches. Speaking via Tatame Magazine Silva said:
“The expectations are the best possible. I arrived in Rio today, did my first training and, thanks’ God I did a good training, and from now on we’ll only take it harder and harder on the trainings, so that I’ll be 100% when I go up there.”
“I arrived today, and it’s a three-month job, so I leave it (studying Swick) to my coaches Distak and Camoes, and the work will be done here. Whatever they tell me to do, I’ll do it. I hope to do a good bout. I’m pretty confident for this one, and I want to get there and put on a good show for everybody.”
“I follow him, and after I knew I’d be fighting him, I’ve watched some of his highlight moments, including the bout with Paulo Thiago. I’ll watch him ok, but now I just have to keep my job done here with my team, and it’ll be it until the fighting day.”
Silva, a training partner of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Rafael Cavalcante and currently the Jungle Fights champion, is undefeated in the past five years, with a record of eleven wins and only one loss.
