You down with OSP? (Yeah you know me.)
Light heavyweight mega-prospect Ovince St. Preux has been booked to throw leather against hexagon debutant Joe Cason at the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers 17 event on July 22 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MMAFighting.com brought word of the match-up earlier today.
St. Preux has been busy as a bee throughout his budding mixed martial arts career, piling up 14 fights over his first three years in action, including six in 2010 alone (6-0).
And while he may have started off a mediocre 3-4, he's ripped off seven consecutive wins since, including an undefeated 4-0 record under the Strikeforce banner.
Can he make it to five?
Joe Cason makes his way to the big(ger) stage after running through the regional MMA scene in Iowa, finishing all nine of his opponents by way of knockout or submission.
On top of that, he did so in the very first round in each fight, the last of which was a technical knockout victory over UFC veteran Sean Salmon.
He'll get his chance to make a splash this summer. But will he crash and burn?
Strikeforce Challengers 17 is set for July 22 at the Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, the first Challengers event to hit "Sin City." The card will feature a welterweight showdown pitting Roger Bowling vs. Bobby Voelker.
In addition, Sarah Kaufman will make her return in a 135-pound fight against former title contender Liz Carmouche.
