Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos reveals she won’t sign a new deal with Strikeforce

Strikeforce women’s 145 pound champion, Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos has revealed that she won’t be putting pen to paper on a new deal with the California based promotion until they agree to give her a pay rise and that’s the real reason why we’ve not seen her in action recently.

Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Santos said:
“I’m pretty sad not to be fighting and I’m trying to renegotiate my contract for a year, but Strkeforce doesn’t want to made a deal, they want to keep paying me what they paid before, but now I’m the event’s champion and I’ve never been defeated in Strikeforce. I just wanted to be recognized.”
Santos could very well suffer at the hands of the new owners as UFC President, Dana White is known to be less than keen on migrating women’s MMA into the UFC’s ranks and could therefore be happy to let someone like “Cyborg” go for free than pay her more money down the line. Stay tuned to MMABay for more on this as it comes in.
