UFC on Versus 5: Jim Miller vs Ben Henderson booked for Aug. 14 in Milwaukee

It's not a title shot but it'll do.
Surging lightweight Jim Miller will keep on trucking his way to top contender status when he takes on Ben Henderson at UFC on Versus 5 on Aug. 14, 2011, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
MyCentralJersey.com brought word of the pending match-up earlier today.
Miller, the Rodney Dangerfield of MMA (cause he can't get no respect, baby), has been tearing through the incredibly deep 155-pound division, head-splitting and submitting his way to seven consecutive victories inside the Octagon.
In fact, the AMA Fight Club product has lost just twice in his entire 22-fight career: to Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar and number one contender Gray Maynard.
Nevertheless, he's had to come up the hard way and his quest for gold continues against a former WEC champion looking to earn a title shot of his own.

Henderson was close to earning himself the top contender status Miller has been chasing for so long in his debut with the world's largest fight promotion. That is until Anthony Pettis decided it was "Showtime" at WEC 53 and went all Mortal Kombat on "Bendo's" face.
Liu Kang would have been proud.
"Bendo" went three rounds with Mark Bocek at UFC 129 on April 30, however, and came out having not only survived but largely dominating one of the better submission artists in the game today.
His performance went a long way in erasing the painful memory of that loss to Pettis. But will Miller bring it all crashing back on Aug. 14?
Time will tell.
UFC on Versus 5 is all set to go down on Aug. 14, 2011, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. So far just Miller vs. Henderson and Stephan Bonnar vs. Karlos Vemola bouts have rumored for the event.
