UFC 130 results: Brian Stann knocks out Jorge Santiago
The UFC 130 pay-per-view fight card kicked off with a middleweight mash-up pitting American hero Brian Stann against Brazilian bomber Jorge Santiago.
You're not in Japan anymore, "Sandman."
Stann absolutely took it to Santiago, knocking him down in the first round and nearly finishing him off before doing the same thing in the second frame, this time achieving the desired result.
Two 2011 fights, two knockouts.
"Thank those who sacrificed all," said Stann in the post-fight interview. This Memorial Day weekend is a memorable one for the marine that gave so much to his country.
USA! USA! USA!
After an 11-1 run through promotions like Strikeforce and Sengoku, Santiago finally made his way back to the world's largest fight promotion to once again test himself against the best in the world.
Fail.
The Japanese import never quite looked comfortable in the cage and while he survived as long as he possibly could, that's all he did ... survive ... and not even for two full rounds.
With the win, Stann is surely in the discussion for a major step up in competition.
