UFC 130 draws announced 12,816 attendance and $2.57 million live gate

LAS VEGAS – Saturday's "UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill" event drew an announced attendance of 12,816 and a live gate of $2.57 million.

UFC president Dana White announced the figures in the night's post-event press conference.

Featuring Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's lopsided unanimous-decision victory over Matt Hamill in the pay-per-view headliner, UFC 130 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The number of complimentary tickets issued was not revealed, but the reported figures indicate an average ticket price of $200.53. The arena was far from half full for the night's first bout.

The Nevada State Athletic Commission will verify the figures and release an official tally early next week.

UFC 130 initially was expected to featured a third meeting between UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard before injuries to both fighters ultimately scrapped the bout.

While the figures fell well short of the MGM Grand's top-five UFC attendance and live-gate figures, they were consistent with UFC 125, which took place at the same venue at the beginning of the year. That event drew 12,874 for a $2,174,780 live gate. However, the UFC's previous Memorial Day weekend card, "UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans," also took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and drew 14,996 for a $3.985 million gate.

The MGM Grand Garden Arena's all-time top UFC gates as compiled by MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) include:

  1. UFC 66 (Liddell vs. Ortiz II): $5,397,300 gate (13,761 attendance)
  2. UFC 91 (Couture vs. Lesnar): $4,815,675 (14,272)
  3. UFC 71 (Liddell vs. Jackson): $4,304,000 (14,728)
  4. UFC 94 (St. Pierre vs. Penn II): $4,290,000 (14,885)
  5. UFC 116 (Lesnar vs. Carwin): $4,053,990 (12,740)
