A bout between WEC veteran Todd Moore (13-4 MMA, 0-0 SF) and fellow promotional newcomer Mike Bronzoulis (12-2-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) is in the works for next month's "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" event.
Sources close to the event told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the welterweight bout is in the process of being finalized.
Bronzoulis's management team at KO Dynasty said their fighter has signed a four-fight deal with the promotion.
Featuring a pair of quarterfinal fights in Strikeforce's heavyweight grand prix, "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" takes place June 18 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, and the night's main card airs on Showtime.
Moore vs. Bronzoulis's is slated for the preliminary card. Both fighters hail from Texas.
Moore, who flamed out of the WEC and DREAM after a three-fighting losing skid, now has won three of his past four fights. The heavy-handed fighter most recently scored a second-round TKO of Lee King ay a regional event in Texas.
Bronzoulis, a two-time Shark Fights competitor and veteran of the Texas fight circuit, makes his Strikeforce debut on the heels of a four-fight win streak and five wins in his past six fights. Eleven of his wins have come via stoppage. His lone decision win came in his most recent bout, against Strikeforce vet Lucas Lopes at March's Shark Fights 14 event.
