Kong...Kong...Kong...Kong...
Tom Watson is "back" and ready to make another run in the UK when he faces Murilo Rua in the main event of the upcoming BAMMA 6: "Kong vs. Ninja" fight card from the Wembley Arena on May 21, 2011.
The promotion announced the headlining bout earlier today.
Watson (13-4) recently outpointed Alex Reid at BAMMA 4 last September and is something of a fixture in British mixed martial arts, going 9-1 over his last ten fights.
A unanimous decision loss to Jesse "JT Money" Taylor at MFC 26: "Retribution" is the only blemish on his otherwise stellar resume dating back to late 2007.
From "Kong:"
"Ninja is without a doubt one of the most exciting and top middleweight fighters in the world. I am so excited that this fight will happen in London for the UK fans. I have no doubt this will be a war."Rua (20-11-1), the older brother of UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, is perhaps best known for his runs in PRIDE FC as well as his middleweight title reign in Elite XC.
"Ninja" recently saw his four-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of Roy Boughton (unanimous decision) at W-1 MMA 6: "New Ground."
Additional fights for BAMMA 6 are expected to be announced soon and can be seen live on May 21 on Syfy: Sky/HD 114, Virgin TV 135 and TalkTalk 22.
