Signed, sealed and soon to be delivered.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today officially announced the new headliner for UFC 128, a championship bout between light heavyweight kingpin Mauricio Rua and new number one contender Jon Jones.
After Rashad Evans withdrew from the March 19 event due to injury, "Bones" was awarded the short-notice title fight following his first round submission win over Ryan Bader at UFC 126 back on Feb. 5 in Las Vegas.
From the challenger:
"My goal is to be considered the best light heavyweight fighter in the world. I feel as if it’s my time. My confidence is already high, I’m already in shape and I have six weeks to make myself even better. I can’t wait for this opportunity."
Let the hype begin.

Rua, who's been out with a knee injury of his own since definitively taking the belt from Lyoto Machida at UFC 113 back in May 2010, was called into the Octagon shortly after Jones' win at the "Silva vs. Belfort" pay-per-view to congratulate his new opponent and accept the challenge.
From "Shogun:"
"I’ve been training hard for a fight on this date and I was prepared to fight Rashad. I face this new challenge as motivation to train even harder. I’m a fighter and I don’t pick opponents. I’ll be ready for Jon Jones."
