UFC 128: Eliot Marshall returns to face Luiz Cane with Karlos Vemola hurt

That's according to our amigos at Tatame, who today bring word of Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 veteran Eliot Marshall getting another crack at Octagon stardom at UFC 128 as a late replacement against Luiz Cane for the injured Karlos Vemola.
"Shogun vs. Jones" takes place on March 19 live on pay-per-view from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Marshall cut his teeth in the ‘Ring of Fire’ promotion before making his debut on the eighth season of TUF. He would eventually fall to division winner Ryan Bader in the semifinals, but bounced back at the season finale with a submission victory over castmate Jules Bruchez.
UFC shocked fans when they put "The Fire" out after a split decision loss to Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC on Versus 1 back in March 2010. It was the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt's first loss inside the Octagon and at the time he seemed to be in good graces after consecutive wins over Vinny Magalhaes and Jason Brilz.
Perhaps the promotion reconsidered its hasty decision to release him, or maybe his 3-0 record after getting cut was all the convincing it needed.
But will he be one and done on March 19?

Cane may be on his last legs as well after dropping back-to-back fights against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 106 and Cyrille Diabate at UFC 114.
Both losses were first round technical stoppages, a surprise turn of events for a fighter that up until that point was 3-1 inside the Octagon.
Who gets the "must win" in "The Garden State" and who goes home?
UFC 128 will feature a main event between light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and division number one contender Jon "Bones" Jones.
Former WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber will also be in action against Eddie Wineland.
