After winning 29 consecutive fights, Fedor Emelianenko has now lost two in a row. Antonio Silva came in as a heavy underdog but he certainly didn't fight like one, stopping the legendary Russian at the end of the second round.
After a highly competitive opening frame, which two of the three judges scored 10-9 for Fedor, "Bigfoot" came out in the second and earned himself a quick takedown.
That was a wrap.
That's because Silva completely dominated "The Last Emperor" on the mat, passing his guard with little to no problem and landing bombs on the hapless Emelianenko. In fact, that was the difference, as those punches were so hard, they completely shut the right eye of Fedor, forcing the doctors to call the fight in between rounds.
Fedor told the fans in the post-fight interview this just might be the end for him.
The Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament opened with a bang and it may have seen the end of one of the greatest heavyweights in the history of MMA.
