"I’m not walking away, but if I were to walk away, I’ve done enough in my career to be happy with what I’ve accomplished. I think I’ve cemented my place in this industry [through] everything I’ve done inside and outside the gym, and I’ve cemented my place in the UFC. I hope to be a Hall of Famer some day. That’s my goal... I’ve been a part of this industry before it was big and after it was big. I look at my career as being two different careers almost. The second part of my career has been phenomenal. I got everything I ever dreamt of and more, and it’s just getting better all the time. I want to fight guys who have something to offer me. Guys if I beat them, I’m going to keep moving up that ladder. I don’t want to take a big step down and fight an up-and-comer. I want to fight contenders. I think I’ve earned that."Former UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk (36-4-1), who turns 38 this August, feels like he's accomplished enough in his 10+ years as a mixed martial artist to earn a spot in the promotion's hall of fame. "The Muscle Shark" has just four losses on his record and all four men who bested him (Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre, BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar) went on to become UFC champions. Can Sherk hang up the gloves today and still be considered one of the sport's all-time greats? Or does he need one more run to cement his place among the MMA elite?
