UFC 126 – Anderson Silva declares himself 100% fit ahead of latest title defence inside the octagon

UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva has revealed that he has no injury concerns heading into his UFC 126 title defence against fellow Brazilian, Vitor Belfort, something he couldn’t say when he squared off with and almost lost to Chael Sonnen over the summer months.
Speaking via ESPN.co.uk, Silva said:
“Yes, I am fit ahead of this title fight.  A lot of times fighters are not 100% going into the Octagon, you can easily pick up a cold or a sprain in training, but as a champion it is your job to perform even when not at your very best. You have a lot of people relying on you to do your job, which is fight. But I am happy to say I’m having a great training camp for this fight with Vitor Belfort.”
“The fight has been called Fight of the Year, and I am proud that so many fans enjoyed the fight. I had the chance to show the type of heart that I have by not giving up and finding a way to win decisively.”
Fans will be looking for Silva to put in a much improved performance this time out if he’s to hang on to not only the middleweight title, but the “pound for pound” crown as well. Stay tuned to MMABay as we bring you the final build-up to this epic fight as we get it.
