UFC heavyweight number one contender, Junior dos Santos has been busy recruiting coaches for his “Ultimate Fighter” season thirteen team, with not one but two of Brazil’s best already down on the list to help him go head-to-head with Brock Lesnar’s crew.Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Ed Soares, the manager of the knockout artist, said:
“He’s got quite a few different guys. His main coach is gonna be the main coach (on the show), Luiz Dorea, who is Anderson’s boxing coach, Junior’s boxing coach, Rodrigo Nogueira and Rogerio Nogueira’s boxing coach. He coaches the Brazilian national team. That’s gonna be one of the boxing coaches.”
“We’ve got Billy Scheibe, who lives down in Oceanside. He trains Junior in Muay Thai. He trains Brandon Vera. He trains Nogueira. He’s going to be one of the coaches. And there are some other guys we’re working on.”
When asked about the possibility of the likes of the Nogueira brothers and Anderson Silva appearing on the show at some point, Soares remarked:“Of course, you never know. That can always happen.”
Filming for the show is to begin in earnest next week with all parties involved heading to Las Vegas, Nevada. The season will feature twenty eight welterweight fighters, all hopeful to become the next “Ultimate Fighter”. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
