Rafael Cordeiro says Wanderlei Silva’s return is in the hands of the UFC doctor

Renowned Brazilian MMA coach, Rafael Cordeiro has been speaking about the return to the octagon later this year for former PRIDE champion, Wanderlei Silva, explaining things are currently in the hands of the UFC’s doctor.
Speaking via Tatame Magazine, Cordeiro said:

“There’s nothing set yet, Wanderlei is waiting for the confirmation from the UFC doctor, who will say a date for his return. He’s getting ready, excited, depending only of the doctor. He always comes in to give is best… Whoever fights Wanderlei next should train hard because he’s crazy, and likes to stand and bang.”

Wanderlei is likely to return to action over the spring months, with a fight already lined up against former WEC light heavyweight champion, Brian Stann. With both men looking for the knockout on the feet, this one could be a contender for “Fight of the Year” honours.
