Because "Semtex" wants to stay busy, according to Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker (via MMAWeekly):
"Paul has requested to have a fight in the UK, and our deal with Paul we have to sign off on it, and we have to have an opponent approval. There’s a couple names and we’re going through that process with him. He wants to stay busy and he wants to fight the winner of (Nick) Diaz and Evangelista (Cyborg), and I think that makes a lot of sense."
Strikeforce welterweight number one contender Paul Daley, fresh off his one-hitter quitter over Scott Smith back on Dec. 4 in St. Louis, looks to return to the United Kingdom to headline "Bamma 5" on Feb. 26 at the MEN Arena against an opponent to be named while he waits for Nick Diaz and "Cyborg" Santos to settle their differences on Jan. 29 in San Jose. Is Coker risking the credibility of his top contender by giving him the freedom to fight outside the organization? Or is this "how it should be" in the ultra-competitive world of mixed martial arts?
