The Curious Case Of Brandon Vera

What is going on with Brandon Vera? Just a couple of years ago Vera was being touted as the next great thing in the UFC. He’s now lost three fights in a row, albeit against very good guys. I researched Vera’s record he’s now 11-6 after his loss at UFC 125.Let’s examine his six losses. Silva(16-2), Jon Jones(11-1), Randy Couture(19-10), Keith Jardine(14-9), Fabricio Werdum(14-4) and Tim Sylvia(28-6). No bums in that list which includes champions.
I think it’s too early to count Vera out. His last three losses have been to very good fighters. Hopefully the UFC will not cut him. His stand up looked good in his fight against Silva. Maybe it’s time for him to look for a new bjj coach?
My guess is that Joe Silva will keep Vera around for one more fight. It’s pretty amazing though how a fighters career can change over the course of just a couple of years.
