Colin 'FREAKSHOW' Fletcher VS Tim 'The Superhuman' Newman FOR BAMMA 13

The UK’s Premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce that Colin ‘Freakshow’ Fletcher is set to face Tim Newman in a Lightweight square off at BAMMA 13, which takes place at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena on 14th September.

Tickets are on sale at http://bit.ly/1bUZXbR.

Sunderland’s Colin ‘Freakshow’ Fletcher has recently signed up to a multi-fight deal with BAMMA following a spell in the UFC. He competed on the TV show, 'The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes', and then at 'UFC 158: St-Pierre vs. Diaz' to go the distance with Mike Ricci concluding in a decision loss.

The Lonsdale sponsored fighter returns to BAMMA with a record of 8-3-0.  Having made an instant impact on fans at BAMMA 8 for his scary clown attire and vicious fighting style, Fletcher last graced the BAMMA cage at BAMMA 9 when he scored a compelling victory against Jason Ball. Ball had come in fresh off a neck-to-neck boxing bout with Chris Eubank Jnr and the fight notably saw Submission specialist Fletcher out-strike the striker, picking him off with kicks for three rounds.

Newport’s Tim ‘Super Human’ Newman comes into the fight with a record of 10-3-0, comprising victories over respectable competition and losses against tough opponents. With wins by both Submission and Strikes (including Knock Out), and a record that boasts both first round finishes and the ability to go the distance, Newman is a well versed MMA athlete. Newman’s last appearance at BAMMA saw him lose on unanimous decision to BAMMA Lonsdale Lightweight champion, Curt Warburton ( ‘BAMMA 8: Manuwa vs Rea’).  Newman currently sits at 9 in the UK MMA rankings, one place above Fletcher.

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:
“The return of Colin will again inject some additional colour into the UK MMA Scene. His experience overseas will be a test for the experienced Newman who is on a win streak and has added some new skills to his game since last fighting on BAMMA. Tim will not be phased by 'La Cirque du Freakshow' and will make this a fight an epic battle. Freakshow looks to redeem his recent losses and Newman hopes to establish himself as a BAMMA main card draw and continue to rise in the UK rankings.”

BAMMA 13 will feature on Channel 5 and 5* in the UK; and will be televised on AXS-TV in the US, The Fight Network in Canada, Red Media in Russia, TV Esporte Interativo in Brazil and Setanta in Africa.
