DENNISTON SUTHERLAND V ANDREW PUNSHON AT MADE 4 THE CAGE 4

FIGHT MANAGEMENT is proud to announce that Middleweight multiple title holder Denniston Sutherland is to face Andrew Punshon in a title bout at Made 4 the Cage: Total Domination, ahead of his December title defence at Cage Rage 25. The match-up takes place on 29 October in Sunderland UK.

With a fight record of 16 - 6 – 0, the list of Sutherland’s former opponents reads like a Who’s Who of UK fighters showcasing a catalogue of tough fights. Sutherland has six UK titles to his name:

Pride & Glory British LHW Champion,
Survival FC British LHW Champion,
FX3 World LHW Champion,
Ultimate Force British LHW Champion,
Total Combat British MW Champion,
Ultimate Challenge (UCMMA) MW Champion;

With his last bout at UCMMA seeing him secure a 1st round KO victory against the legendary  Mark Weir and with a title defence against Jake Bostwick set for December, it says a lot about Sutherland that he will be facing threatening underdog prospect Punshon at Made 4 the Cage.

Fighting out of the Lodge Fight Club with a record of 9 - 4 - 0 –1 NC, Pushon has never been in a bout that lasted past the first round and has a fight record dominated by submission wins.

Sutherland says, “I don’t know much about Punshon – I can only find one video on him which means I need to be sharp.  I always want more fights so I’m really excited about this fight and to have another one just six weeks later.”

Manager Wad Alameddine says, “Punshon is an exciting fighter who finishes fights; and that makes it an appealing fight for Denniston who is continually wanting to test himself against tough opponents, which we believe Andy is.  Andy has been fighting for a long time and is a veteran of the sport in the UK, much like Denniston. Again this makes it an intriguing bout for us and one I’m sure the fans and UK MMA community will appreciate.  Denniston has been itching to fight since he KO’d Weir in June, but finding worthy opponents in the UK is not an easy thing to do. I believe Denniston is at the point where he is ready to hit the international scene and really show what he can do, but before we do that he has Andy and Jake to get through and make it 4 wins out of 4 for 2011, which I’m confident he can (and will) do. “
