UFC 134 – Yushin Okami plans on proving Dana White right by becoming the next middleweight champion

UFC middleweight number one contender, Yushin Okami has explained he plans on proving Dana White right when he said earlier this month that the man dubbed “Thunder” was the best fighter to have come out of Japan by defeating Anderson Silva this coming weekend and becoming the new king of the 185 pound division.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Okami said:

“I understand many people are saying Anderson is the pound-for-pound (best) fighter. But it really doesn’t matter to me. I’m going to beat him, and I’m going to be the middleweight champion. I’m the kind of person who never thinks too much (about those things), so I didn’t think about it in that way. But there is one thing I can say: Right now, I’m in the best shape, so this is the best time to fight Anderson Silva.”
“I’m very glad to hear that comment from Mr. Dana, but I’m doing this to be the best in the world, so I’m going to prove it in the next fight.”
Okami rebounded from a set back against Chael Sonnen in 2009 by racking up three impressive and unusually entertaining wins, including decisions against Mark Munoz and Nate Marquardt.
