Fedor Emelianenko’s next opponent might be Gabriel Gonzaga as the search goes on for someone legitimate

Formerly ranked number one fighter on the planet, Fedor Emelianenko could be about to step into the ring (or cage) with former UFC heavyweight title contender, Gabriel Gonzaga for his next fight as the search goes on by M-1 Global to find him someone of note to square off with.
A source close to the situation revealed the news to ESPN.com earlier today, explaining the recently retired Brazilian has been approached over the fight.
“Napao” was last seen in action in October when he lost via unanimous decision to Brendan Schaub. Prior to that he’d been knocked out by Junior dos Santos as both men climbed the heavyweight ranks. His most notable win came over Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 71 in 2007, knocking the Croatian out with a stunning head kick.
Fedor is looking to snap a three-fight losing streak after being submitted by Fabricio Werdum, manhandled by Antonio “Big Foot” Silva and knocked out by Dan Henderson. Possible opponents already mentioned have been Kevin Randleman and Travis Wiuff to Mike Whitehead.
