Eddie Alvarez vs. Shinya Aoki II in the works for Bellator card in 2012

It appears Bellator’s lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez might get the chance to avenge one of his few defeats since taking up the sport of mixed martial arts after it was revealed a rematch with Shinya Aoki is in the works for next year.
According to Sherdog.com a source close to the situation revealed the news earlier today, adding bout agreements have been distributed and are expected to be signed and returned shortly.
The two men met on New Year’s Eve 2008 with the Japanese submission machine walking away the winning after just 92 seconds. Aoki slapped on a tight heel hook, forcing Alvarez to submit to him and retained his title in the process. Both men have gone on to defend their respective titles ever since and have looked impressive whilst doing so.
