“Ultimate Fighter” season eight light heavyweight winner, Ryan Bader has revealed that he’s decided to dedicate a large amount of his time to training at the Xtreme Couture facility in Las Vegas, Nevada after suffering back-to-back losses inside the octagon in an attempt to return to winning ways. Speaking via Fighters Only Magazine, Bader said:
“Yeah I’m just mixing it up a bit. I have my camp down at Power MMA but I need to branch out, work with different guys, bigger guys, get out of my comfort zone. So I’m splitting time between both, I have been up here for a week working with Gil [Martinez, Xtreme Couture boxing coach] and fixing some things and going in with bigger guys… its exactly what I need.”
“After a loss you want be right back in there. It pisses you off. Its in your head the whole time. I couldn’t sleep. It sucks to lose in general but to go in somewhere you’re supposed to win… So I’m back in the gym and I’m in Vegas working with some different people and working on some stuff I need to work on.
“So maybe it was a blessing in disguise because it got me out of my comfort zone. If I won I would have been doing the same [old] things. So who knows this might be better for my career than a win might have been. We will see.”
Bader is now under a little pressure after losing back-to-back fights inside the octagon in 2011 to current champion, Jon Jones and former champion, Tito Ortiz. Can this powerhouse wrestler shake off the cobwebs and return to winning ways next time out?
