Dana White: “Overeem is under contract, and when his pinky toe heals up, we’ll get him another fight.”

UFC President, Dana White has revealed that Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem is still under contract with the California based promotion, but couldn’t resist the urge when it came to taking a pop at “The Reem” in the process.
Speaking via MMAJunkie.com, Dana said:
“Sept. 10 was the date Showtime wants us to go, so it’s the date we’ve got to go. It’s unfortunate that Alistair is unavailable, but situations like this are why there are alternates in the tournament. Overeem is under contract, and when his pinky toe heals up, we’ll get him another fight.”
Overeem was due to face Antonio “Big Foot” Silva in the semi-finals of the heavyweight grand-prix but refused to be a part of the September 10th card after suffering a series of minor injuries last time out. He has now been replaced by the undefeated wrestling powerhouse, Daniel Cormier who now has the opportunity of a lifetime ahead of him.
