UFC 130 – Roy Nelson thinks his fight with Frank Mir will be the real main event in Las Vegas, Nevada

“Ultimate Fighter” season ten winner, Roy Nelson has been giving his thoughts on his upcoming fight this weekend with former UFC heavyweight champ, Frank Mir, explaining as far as he’s concerned the fight will be the real main event on the card and he’s sure the fans will end up seeing it that way too.
Speaking via MMAWeekly.com, Nelson said:
“I’m the guy that wants to fight everybody at least once and maybe twice after I fight everybody once, but I just want to fight the best in the world. You’ve got Frank, he’s a two-time UFC champion, the longest employed Zuffa heavyweight. He’s a living legend of the heavyweight division for the UFC. For me to say I fought a living legend for the UFC, that’s something to say.”
“I’ve got to be the better striker, the better grappler, because at the end of the day Frank’s one of the most complete mixed martial artists. The only thing he probably lacks is the wrestling. Everything else he’s right there. It’s a fight that going to be a complete mixed martial arts fight.”
“I think it’s one of the fan favorites for the weekend. I like to say we’re saving the card.”
Nelson had his run up the heavyweight ranks cut short last time out when he gutted it out to no avail against Brazilian heavy hitter, Junior dos Santos at UFC 117 in August of last year. Prior to that he’d defeated to prospects Brendan Schaub and Stefan Struve via knockout. Stay tuned to MMABay for more build-up to this one as we get it.
