Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW) -- the premiere mixed martial arts organization in Poland -- held its latest event this weekend (May 21, 2011) from Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland.
KSW 16 aired live via online pay-per-view (PPV) and Polsat TV for a cool $3.
Those who dug deep into their pockets witnessed the main event between UFC, IFL, Strikeforce and Affliction MMA veteran, Matt Lindland, battling Polish powerhouse Mamed Khalidov.
It didn't last long.
Khalidov swarmed Lindland with a flurry of strikes right off the bat. He then worked his way inside, secured a standing guillotine and pulled "The Law" to the ground with the choke locked tight.
And that's how it ended.
In the co main event of the evening, Pride FC and Elite XC veteran James Thompson took on five-time World's Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski, in a titanic heavyweight title.
Pudzianowski started the fight winging punches, trying to take out "The Colossus" early with a knockout. But all that did was drain his cardio-challenged gas tank sooner than expected.
Thompson weathered the early storm and ended the fight in the second round, submitting a completely spent Pudzianowski with a triangle choke.
