Brian Bowles vs Takeya Mizugaki fight booked for UFC 132 on July 2

Headliners Dominck Cruz and Urijah Faber are going to have a little 135-pound competition on Independence Day weekend.
Former WEC champion Brian Bowles and one of the division's most exciting fighters, Takeya Mizugaki, have verbally agreed to throwdown at UFC 132 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 2, 2011.
UFC President Dana White today made the announcement, saying:
"Brian Bowles looks to regain the bantamweight championship title, but first he’ll have to take on hard-hitting perennial top-10 contender Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 132."
Bowles began his march back to title contention when he submitted Damacio Page with a first round guillotine choke in his Octagon debut at UFC on Versus 3: "Sanchez vs. Kampmann" last month.
Prior to the win, Bowles had sat on the sidelines for more than a year, nursing various injuries (hand and foot), while looking to rebound from a technical knockout loss to the aforementioned Cruz in March 2010.
He'll get his chance when he takes on the gritty Japanese import.

Mizugaki got himself back in the win column, also while making his UFC debut at the most recent Versus event, taking a split decision from Reuben Duran. He dropped two of his three previous bouts, getting choked out by Faber in Nov. 2010 and dropping a decision to Scott Jorgensen in Dec. 2009.
His road to the top of the division isn't going to get any easier with the hard-hitting Athens, Ga., product.

UFC 132 features a main event between bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and his 135-pound arch enemy, Urijah Faber. Wanderlei Silva and Chris Leben are also expected to throw hands in "Sin City."
Also on the card are match ups that pit Melvin Guillard vs. Shane Roller, George Sotiropoulos vs. Evan Dunham and Dennis Siver vs. Matt Wiman.
