“I know this is going to be a headbanger fight. I’m so looking forward to it. Edson Barboza is a great fighter, and I like a challenge. He’s a challenge I want to go in there and conquer. … We’re going to splash a lot of blood out there. The octagon jitters won’t hit this brother. I won’t feel them at all.”
“I’m extremely confident (in my ground game) now. I’ve been working with all those black belts at Sergio Penha’s gym. I’m not getting caught in anything. I’m playing it smart in the game. My ground game has come up a couple notches for sure.”
After going 4-3 inside the WEC cage the Nigerian fighter isn’t short on experience as he looks to make an impressive octagon debut. All four of his wins with the now debunked promotion came via TKO. He was last seen in action at WEC 52, defeating Edward Faaloloto with a vicious standing elbow strike.
