Shinya Aoki signs on the dotted line to take on Lyle Beerbohm on April 9th in San Jose, California

DREAM lightweight champion, Shinya Aoki appears to have an opponent for his second trip to the United States after agreeing to face talented grappler, Lyle Beerbohm on the April 9th Strikeforce show in San Jose, California.
According to MMA-Japan.com a source close to the negotiations revealed that both men had signed and returned their bout agreements for next month’s event.
Aoki suffered a defeat the last time he fought under the California based MMA promotions banner, losing out to current champion, Gilbert Melendez via unanimous decision. Since then he has posted three consequtive wins including a two round decision over Marcus Aurellio.
Beerbohm makes for a strange choice of opponent for Aoki after he recently lost the first professional fight of his career just last month when he took on Pat Healy inside the cage. Prior to that he’d posted 16 straight wins including a first round submission over Duane Ludwig.
