UFC 156: Jose Aldo: Preparing For A Superfight (Part 1)

BEAT YOUR OPPONENT BEFORE YOU'RE IN THE CAGE

GENETIC PRE-LOAD

MAXIMISE MUSCULAR PERFORMANCE

Muscular loading formula

5g Citrulline Malate

5g Genuine Creapure

2g Beta Alanine

Why use Genetic Pre-Load?

Supplementing with creatine, beta alanine and citrulline malate is a guaranteed way to increase intra-muscular performance. All 3 ingredients are research proven to buffer lactic acid in the blood and increase performance in the gym, on the playing field & in all physical sporting activities.

For maximal ‘loading’ benefit from all 3 ingredients we have to take these compounds over time away from the workout window, saturating the muscle tissue over time. A 6 week loading period is optimal before peak benefit is seen. By using this product you can expect to experience:

Increased capacity when weight training

Increased capacity during short intense exercise

Increased concentration & neurological performance

This product also enhances the effects of using Genetic Sustain during your workouts & physical activities. ‘Pre-Load’ the muscles with beta alanine and citrulline malate and maintain that level by using Genetic Sustain during training & competitive sports.

Ingredients:

Citrulline Malate, Genuine Creapure, Beta Alanine, flavouring, sweetner (sucrolose)

When to take Genetic Pre-Load:

Mix 12g (2 heaped scoops) of Pre-Load in 150-250ml of water and consume after breakfast on a full stomach. If you are an early morning trainer take with dinner. What is important is taking it at the same time of the day long term, away from the exercise window.

'Cyborg' Santos tells Ronda Rousey: 'Step up bitch,

The ex Strikeforce champion took to her Instagram and Twitter accounts to vent out her frustrations
about meeting the UFC champion Ronda Rousey:

"I am not afraid of Ronda! I will fight her anywhere and anytime for free. Everyone knows I barely make 145, but I am willing to sacrifice and meet her half way at 140. I can't believe Dana says I want nothing to do with Ronda. What he wants me to do is fight Ronda with both my hands tied behind my back or comatosed so that she can have a chance-which is what making me fight at 135 is  to finally shut everyone up  I will fight Ronda with one hand tied behind my Back at 140lb and still kick her ass and prove that I'm the real champ not her- and let the winner take ALL come on rhonda step up bitch!"

Rampage Jackson: UFC lies about its pay-per-view numbers

"Rampage" tells MMA HEAT is "taking advantage of its fighters" while "cleaning house" in the pay-per-view sales.

"In my opinion, I feel like me and the rest of the UFC fighters are getting taken advantage of. I feel like the UFC is cleaning house. The pay-per-view dollars? They tell me one number, but then they tell the press another. Pay me the numbers that you tell the press! Don't tell me, 'Oh, we only sold this many,' then you tell the press, 'Oh we sold this many!' But then I'm saying, 'Hey, you only told me we sold 800,000 buys but you told the press you sold a million buys.' Then they say 'Oh, we just say that for the press.' No, pay me what you told the press because you lyin' somewhere. You either lyin' to me or you lyin' to the press about the pay-per-view numbers. If they're doing it to me, I'm sure they're doing it to other fighters."

Frankie Edgar Career Highlight Video – ‘Moving Up The Ranks’

Keith Jardine takes Semi Retirement

Jardine spoke to MMA Fight Corner about his future in MMA

"A lot of people have been pushing me to retire, I've been a shell of myself these last couple years. I've been saying I'm definitely on the shelf, I'm semi-retired, I'm definitely on the shelf right now. I've just been looking at my health and my fitness. The way I've been approaching things has been way wrong. I've been educating myself. I've been doing this Bulletproof stuff. My nutrition was just backwards, my working out was backwards, I was a zombie walking around for the last two years. So that's my approach right now is I'm trying to get myself healthy. And then once I feel like I'm ready to go out and to perform at a level I want to and shock the world, I want to do it. I got to do it again. I don't care if I win or lose, but I just want to go out there and perform and be Keith Jardine which I haven't been in the last couple of years. When I dropped to middleweight it was a disaster, it was stupid. It made everything even worse. It magnified all of my health issues that I was dealing with."

He goes on to say:

"One thing with fighters though, the main thing, and I'm sure that is going to hold true with everybody, I was so stupid back then. I remember I fought Houston Alexander and I got caught in that fight. Well, I was back in the gym the following week helping Rashad (Evans) train and I was just getting hit in the back of the head and I was like, ‘whoa, this doesn't feel quite right.' I knew I wasn't quite right, but nobody was telling me not to. It was like, ‘Hey look at Keith, he's doing a good job, he's the hardest worker in the gym. He's in there training.' I was like no, someone needed to send me home."

Steven Ray vs Curt Warburton for the BAMMA Lonsdale British Lightweight Title

The UK’s premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce Steven Ray vs. Curt Warburton to the BAMMA 12 main card, in a square-off for the BAMMA Lonsdale British Lightweight title. BAMMA 12 takes place at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on Saturday 9th March 2013.

Reigning BAMMA Lonsdale British Lightweight champion, Steven ‘Braveheart’ Ray, debuted at BAMMA in December 2012 where he earned the title in a distance bout against Dale Hardiman. Hailing from Scotland, the Judo black-belt turned MMA Pro in 2010 and dominated the Welterweight division on the Scottish circuit to claim the On Top Welterweight bel,t before dropping to Lightweight for his BAMMA 11 title shot. Ray presents a professional MMA record of 12-3-0; and his clash with Warburton marks his first defence of the BAMMA Lonsdale belt.

Curt ‘The War’ Warburton presents a formidable challenge armed with a catalogue of notable wins on his 11-3-0 record, most famously against Ross Pearson. Warburton fought three times in the UFC before fighting Tim Newman at BAMMA 8. BAMMA 10 saw Warburton return for a World Lightweight title contenders match against Lee Wieczorek, in which he delivered his second BAMMA decision win. Warburton was slated to challenge BAMMA’s World Lightweight champion, Rob Sinclair, on the forthcoming card, until Sinclair was forced to withdraw injured; leaving Warburton to set his sights on another BAMMA belt.

British Champion , Stevie Ray said:
“I’ve been really excited about this fight. Soon as I heard it was getting announced today it got me right in the mood to train – and today is supposed to be my rest day! This is a tough fight but that’s what I want. I was super motivated for my previous BAMMA title fight; I came to win no matter how I did it and I wasn’t leaving without that belt. I feel really privileged to be fighting for BAMMA again and I can’t wait to get in the cage and do it all over again. Curt Warburton looks tough. I’ve had a little look at him, just to see what he’s about and to spot what his strengths and weaknesses are. He’s on the run to get back to the UFC so beating him will be massive for me. I will be training harder than ever, and as always pushing myself that one step further. Fans can expect a Fight of the Night performance, an even better and improved Steven Ray and 15 minutes of fast paced action. As Chael Sonnen said, ‘When two fighters want it so badly, that’s when you know it’s going to be an exciting fight.

“ If I can, I’d like to thank my family, friends, sponsors (Geo Thompson Knock Out Art, Sportsense Nutrition, 1stChoice Glazing, Stark Partnership and Fitness Factor Gym), my management On Top Promotions, my coach James Doolan, everyone from Dinky Ninjas fight team and lastly everyone at BAMMA

Challenger Curt Warburton said:
“I’m looking forward to the fight. Obviously it’s a different fight than I originally planned for and I’ve had to go back to the drawing board so my gameplan’s totally changed. Stevie Ray’s a completely different fighter, more of a wrestler: He’s a good fighter and a champion for a reason, but I’m coming to take that belt off him. I’ll be fighting in my hometown and there’s going to be good support. Expect fireworks, a knock out and a new BAMMA Lonsdale champ.”

BAMMA’s Managing Director, Ashley Bothwell, said:
“Stevie Ray and Curt Warburton are both fierce talents who are well respected on the British scene. It’s been a chance injury that’s brought these two together but for me it’s going to be one of the most exciting fights of the night. Warburton brings longer experience at a higher level but Ray poses a serious threat and a tough challenge. Warburton also brings the home crowd so you can expect this to be a fight to bring the house down. Everyone at BAMMA wishes injured World champ, Rob Sinclair, a strong and speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back very soon. ” BAMMA 12 will feature on Channel 5 and 5*; and will be televised on AXS-TV in the US, The Fight Network in Canada, Red Media in Russia, TV Esporte Interativo in Brazil and Setanta in Africa.

Dana White speaks with Quinton Jackson's manager

White said on Tuesday's edition of "UFC Tonight" on FUEL TV that he recently spoke with Jackson's manager about the 'Free Agent's future'.

"First of all, ‘Rampage' has lost three in a row. He wasn't very nice to us leading up to his last fight (laughs). I don't dislike ‘Rampage.' Through all that crap that happened leading up to this fight, I treated ‘Rampage' the exact same that I always have. Yes, we do have the right to match , I think it's like a three-month right to match. I don't know, we'll see what happens. I talked to his manager yesterday. I'm not out to hurt ‘Rampage.' We'll see how this thing plays out."

Maynard says hes "on a collision course" wih Pettis

Gray Maynard told Bleacher Report. :

"Pettis is the fight I would love to have" , "At the same time, I understand why he would wait for a title shot. That is what we are all working towards and if that is on his plate then I get sitting out. But things rarely go as planned in this game and if something happens as a result of the Henderson vs. Melendez fight and Pettis decides he's tired of waiting then I'd be happy to oblige him. The way I see it, whether it happens now or later, Pettis and I are on a collision course."

"He does some exciting things inside the cage and I think it would be a great challenge trying to solve that puzzle. I watched him beat Cerrone this weekend, but "Cowboy's" style was the perfect matchup for Pettis to do what he does best. Cerrone comes forward with a straight up and down Muay Thai-style and Pettis was able to dictate space and get off on him. That's not the way I fight and I think I would present some difficult challenges for him."

Rob 'c4'Sinclair Recovery Blog.

This is the Recovery Blog of Rob 'c4'Sinclair, it explains how he picked up an Achilles injury 2 months out of his title defence against Curt Warburton this is his:

1st WEEK RECOVERY BLOG.

I'm looking at the circuit composed by stapes, now if u don't know who this guy is, he's the guy who gets the number 1 armed forces.... the marines fit, he's a beast.. He's composed a circuit 3 minutes circuit, all out, 3 mins rest , times 3 x through.. So 9 minutes training.. That's all.

But I can see the lil smile on his face, I'm feeling sick, :)

So I'm at matched up with my brother so I already know its gonna be competitive, 1sets done and I hit 190bmp, fuck me.. I'm fucked already.. Then my brothers goes, if its possible he's just as bad as me, then I go on to the next 1, 20 clean n jerks and 2 mins little jumps, as I'm doing it, stapes shouts last 15secs and I've already hit 80 so I go all out, on the 90th , I collapse with 2 secs to go, at first I thought some fucker had kicked my calf muscle.. As I felt my leg I knew it wasn't good, Carl Noon had the same sensation and from wot I talked to him about, my Achilles has, ruptured..

8 fucking weeks out from my 4th title defence against Curt Warburton at BAMMA 12.. FUCKKKK

So i go Burnley hospital, long story short, get fucked off to Blackburn royal hospital.. First thing I notice was morbidly obese people in the waiting room.. Fucking time wasters prob wanting an operation to remove a cheeseburger or a cow pie.. There's no doubt some genuinely ill people.. But a shit load of hypochondriacs. Again long story short, fucked off till Monday morning 8am. By this time it was 8pm sat night.

Monday morning me and Emma fletcher and my lil bro Lewis go there.. See four different doctors in 8 hours who try fucking me off with a cast, they will not operate in a million years.. cost 3k but they wont say  its money, even tho iv paid 50k in my lifetime of working..

#Wankers

If u are ever going to Burnley or Blackburn hospital I won't ever waste my time again at them two hospitals..

So I'm advised to go Preston hospital.. Ad the difference in hospitals is incredible.. In the 3hours I'm there iv got an appointment for foot and ankle doctor for the next day, the next day wen I see dr Mittel and his assistant iv got a scan within an hour, within 3 hours of being in Preston hospital iv got an appointment booked 21/1/13 at 12pm

21/1/13 arrives and arrive with my overnight bag, I don't need it tho, the staff are incredible and I can't thank them enough, I was operated on under general anaesthetic and back home within 6 hours, with a cast on and a appointment to remove the cast 5/2/13 and put a boot on, ls it can be removed and rehabbed on..

Ive now had the cast on a week and my left leg has muscle atrophy and wasting away, I have another boring ass week of Jeremy Kyle and loose woman before I go back, but I am on track I'm n good frame of mind, I'm looking to fight n July back at BAMMA, 1 thing is for sure tho, I was considering retiring recently after seeing some of "Uk 's finest" fighters get UFC  contacts etc. and me and me brother get "overlooked " but after this, after sitting on the sofa for this long.. After missing my fight at Newcastle, my footballing city, I'm more focused than ever. U will see a more explosive rob c4 Sinclair and i will be back with some serious issues to prove, I give thanks to my sponsors, Glenn Slater, Real Nutrition,

Soulmate foods, Bad Boy, perform centre Emma Fletcher my Physio, Predators, Smuggling Duds, Funky Gums, all my family and friends and to BAMMA for being patient with me,.. Ill b back with another number 6 best KO in the wold 2011.

Having trained together at the legendary American Kickboxing Academy, both competitors are well aware of what’s at stake February 21st.
“I said it after my quarterfinal win, and I’ll say it again, I’m looking to smash this dude,” King Mo said. “Emmanuel is a tough guy, but I know where my game is at, and if I focus on me, we won’t have any issues on February 21st. I’m always looking for that first round knockout, and that’s it.”
“This is my time. Everyone knows Mo and what he brings to the table, and he’s the guy I have to get through to get to my belt,” Newton said. “The belt is what I’m here for, and it doesn’t matter who is in my way to get there.”

“To have the opportunity to fight in Salt Lake City for the Bellator Featherweight Tournament Championship is just a dream come true,” Martinez said. “Utah has a great base of MMA fans, but we’ve never had a big MMA promotion come to Salt Lake City, so it’s a great honor to be headlining Utah’s first large scale MMA event.”

Bec 'Rowdy' Hyatt announces opponent for Invicta FC 5

Hyatt took to facebook with this statement:

My next fight is scheduled for April 6th against ISKA Muay Thai champion Jasmika Cive from Austria on the Invicta Fighting Championships 5 card :) Her MMA record is 5-0 & I'm super excited about this challenge :) Regardless of who's name was on the contract, I was going to sign ...it & as luck would have it, I'm very familiar with my opponent after having watched all the footage I could find on her months ago anticipating that a match up may happen at some point :) The event is scheduled for Missouri & not California as first announced :( One thing is for certain though... ridiculously stylish violence will be witnessed by all :) ♥

UFC President tells Bellator 'Match the Alvarez deal'

UFC president Dana White, recently spoke to the media about rival promotion Bellator:

“The judge must not have done his homework if he’s agreeing that Spike TV and FOX are the same platforms.
They’re so fucking far apart, it’s not even funny. It’s two different fucing universes.
I saw in their argument where they said, ‘Oh, Spike launches pay-per-views.’ No, actually they don’t. That’s not true. We did. What they’re doing is, they’re saying — not as much Spike, as Viacom — has been saying, ‘We built the UFC.’

No you fucking did not. No you did not, you arrogant, pompous jackass. You did not build the UFC. We’ll see if you did.
It’s ridiculous. I don’t know how a court or a judge couldn’t see that. And even if they said, ‘You know what, let’s really dive into this thing.
Let’s see what the lowest pay-per-view is the UFC has ever done. Let’s see if we can find out what a low number is, what a high number is, and let’s see if we can find a right number that Eddie Alvarez should be paid.’

There’s got to be some middle ground there. Say, okay, depending on what pay-per-view he would have been on, this is maybe what he should have been paid.
Find a middle ground, and pay the kid what he should have been paid. There’s nothing wrong with this whole situation as long as Eddie Alvarez gets paid.
This isn’t one of those situations where you’re talking about, ‘Poor little Bellator.’ Viacom owns Bellator. They’re the owners of Bellator. They pull the triggers. They make the money. They have the money, they decide what’s going on over there.
These are boxing guys, man. This is what boxing guys do. They sue everybody. They’re always in court, every 15 minutes.

So this is something, this Eddie Alvarez situation, if you look at the 13-year history of the UFC, and our relationship with fighters, and what we’ve done, there’s always going to be a situation where guys need more money.
Everybody wants to make more money. You guys want to make more money. Everybody needs to make more money. That’s never going to change. That’s in all of sports, okay?
But you better think long and hard if you’re a manager or a fighter and you’re about to do a deal with Bellator. Think long and hard about how you negotiate that contract.”

Rampage: Jimi Manuwa almost knocked me out

Rampage Jackson has highlighted the threat of Jimi Manuwa to the UFC light-heavyweight division, after the two trained togeather for Jackson's fight against Glover Teixeira UFC on FOX 6.he said he feels sorry for anybody who has to fight the Brit - including next opponent Cyrille Diabate.he said:  “It got kind of heated in there. One time we were sparring, I looked round and all my coaches were kicking back with popcorn. He’s tough, he’s a great sparring partner, I feel bad for anyone who fights this guy. He punches hard, he’s got some of the hardest kicks I’ve ever felt – he’s tough. Jimi can knock out anyone he wants. He has excellent striking and he actually backs me up, not many people do that. So if he can do that to me – and I don’t mind getting punched – he can knock anybody out. He almost knocked me out a few times!”
“Both guys are strikers, if I was Jimi I would use an all-round game, maybe look to take him down once or twice just to nullify his striking. And then work from there. But Jimi doesn’t need to do that. Use those leg kicks, and then use those hands. His all-round striking game is on point. I’m very impressed with his striking.”

Tito Ortiz: talks a potential Ronda Rousey vs. Cyborg Santos superfight.

"Working with Cyborg is challenging. The girl wants to fight, of course, but it's just a question with her getting down to 145lbs, She really feels it's impossible. She walks around 160, 165, and to make 145 for all the years she's done it, she's like, ‘Tito, it really takes the last energy just for me to make 145. Now they want me to cut down to 135?

It's going to be really, really, almost impossible.' I battle back and forth with her, telling her how the UFC is going to take care of her, this and that. We're still just ... we're at the end of the rope, I think. I'm not sure if she wants to do it. Me and my partner, George Prajin, we just sit there and we just try to talk to her over and over again."

"Will she make 135? As a person who has cut weight for 22 years: no, I don't think it's going to happen. It's hard for women to cut that much weight. For a woman to be three-percent body fat, it's not healthy. She talks about that she wants to have kids some day. Things like that can damage her [in that regard], and a lot of people don't understand that. This is not a man we're talking about. This is a woman we're talking about. For Ronda to cut down the weight, yeah, she had a lot of extra weight on her."

"Cyborg  doesn't have much on her. She used to walk around at 170 and she lost some muscle mass just to try to see if she can get lower in this weight to do it. So far, so good. Like I said, she's 160, 165. She bounces back around there. She says she stopped lifting weights the way she does and really just [been] focusing on her jiu-jitsu. She's been training, putting in the time.
"I hope I can put this fight together, man. I'm trying my hardest. I hope Dana White understands. I hope Dana is listening to this and understands. I'm trying to get this thing together."

Cung Le open to fighting Anderson Silva

UFC middleweight veteran, Cung Le has been speaking to mmafighting .com about his name being thrown out there by Ed Soares as a possible opponent for 185lb champ Anderson 'The Spider' Silva.

he said:
“If the UFC wants me to fight after our discussion, I’m totally open for it. For me, I don’t mind either way. I’m just happy that I’m in the mix. There’s a lot of great fighters out there. Chris (Weidman), Luke Rockhold is another name that people should watch out for. I’m open for whatever. Whether it’s fighting, coaching or doing movies.”
“If the fight would ever happen, I wouldn’t be scared because he’s pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world. I’d be excited to see how I do, whether I get beat up or whatever. It doesn’t matter. That’s why we compete. That’s why we challenge ourselves. That’s what makes us who we are, and I love the challenge.”

Middleweight Title Bout & Bellator’s Season Eight Featherweight Tournament Quarterfinals Set For Feb. 7th

The Toughest Tournament in Sports continues as Bellator MMA has set a loaded Featherweight Tournament field from Atlanta’s Gwinnet Center February 7th live on Spike TV. The night will be headlined by a Bellator Middleweight World Title fight as Russian knockout artist Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko and dominating Brazilian Maiquel “Big Rig” Falcao battle for the Bellator Middleweight Championship.

After successfully winning his second Bellator Middleweight Tournament, Shlemenko has his sights set on one thing: The Bellator Middleweight World Championship. Currently riding a nine fight win streak and holding an incredible 46-7 record, Shlemenko knows his February 7th fight will be the biggest of his career.
“Big Rig” enters the fight after three dominating tournament victories inside the Bellator cage. After competing in organizations across the world, Falcao knows he has found a home in Bellator and is hoping to etch his name into the Bellator history books on February 7th from The Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by visiting The Arena at Gwinnett Center Box Office, with tickets starting at just $40 dollars. The event will broadcast LIVE starting at 10 p.m. EST on Spike, as well as in Spanish language on mun2. The preliminary card will be streamed LIVE and FREE on Spike.com starting at 8 p.m. EST.
Widely regarded as one of the best featherweights in the world, Marlon Sandro is primed for an extended tournament run as he takes on Russian finisher Akop Stepanyan in opening round action. After two tournament finals appearances, Sandro is ready for the next step and capture his first Bellator Tournament crown.

“There is nothing in this world I want more than the Bellator Featherweight Title, and this is my road,” Sandro said. “I love Bellator with all my heart and I know my opportunity is now.”
Armed with two of the quickest hands in MMA, Mike “The Marine” Richman will take on Bellator newcomer Mitch Jackson in a quarterfinal affair live on Spike. With 26 finishes between the two, it’s an opening round fight primed for fireworks.
“It feels great to be back in the tournament, and to showcase my skills on Spike TV for Bellator,” Richman said. “I’m going to out class Mitch Jackson and show him he isn’t at my level. He’s going to sleep, and then I plan on finishing the rest of the field and getting my title shot and that $100,000 prize.”

Two of the most exciting featherweights in the Bellator ranks go to battle when “Popo” Bezerra meets Genair da Silva in an explosive quarterfinal fight. Already 14-2 at just 25 years old, Bezerra is looking to elevate his game to the next level and embark on a long tournament run.
The Bellator Featherweight Tournament will be rounded out with a classic Brazil vs. Russia clash as Bellator newcomer and submission ace Fabricio Guerrerio clashes with Magomedrasul “Frodo” Khasbulaev. After two quick finishes inside the Bellator cage, “Frodo” is gearing up for his first taste of The Toughest Tournament in Sports.
“After my last two fights, my time is now, and February 7th will be the start of my championship run,” Khasbulaev said.

“With a Middleweight World Title fight and the start of our $100,000 stacked Featherweight Tournament, February 7th from the Gwinnet Center is going to be a huge night live on Spike TV,” said Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney.

Dana White responds to Silva vs Cung Le interest

UFC President Dana White responds to recent comments made by Ed Soares, manager of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who said "The Spider" has shown interest if fellow 185lb'er and former Strikeforce champion Cung Le.

"This is typical Anderson Silva-Ed Soares craziness. Every fucking time there's a fight. He wants to fight Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse' Johnson, then he wants to fucking fight this guy and that guy. This is always the same deal, it always happens. ‘I absolutely will not fight Chael Sonnen, he doesn't deserve the title and I'm not doing this and I'm not doing that.' This is what we do. We're waiting on something, we'll see if this pans out. When we're ready to announce it, we'll announce it. He will defend his title; it won't be a super fight."

Sponsor Says Breached Agreement, Not Rick Hawn’s Performance

HTFU founder Mark Gingrich who launched his lifestyle apparel brand in 2009, recently told Sherdog.com that he received a multitude of verbal and physical threats after news broke on Tuesday that he had put a stop payment on a sponsorship check issued to Rick Hawn for his appearance at Bellator 85.

After Hawn submitted to a second-round rear-naked choke, Gingrich said he left the arena and typed an email to Russell the following day, the penultimate graph of which was posted by Hawn Monday night on Twitter. Gingrich recently forwarded that email to Sherdog.com, now reprinted in its entirety:

“Mike, can you tell me why one of his corners wasn't wearing a shirt and why none of his corners were wearing the hat?

“This was part of the agreement which Rick and his camp did not fulfill. With regards to everything I have done: I sent Rick a couple thousand dollars worth of clothes (FedEx overnight cost $200). I bought a ticket out to support his fight and paid for hotels, rental cars. I made a shirt which cost me almost $1000 to make. I had to shut down a printer to do it and take away resources to fulfill the order.

“I arrived in Irvine on Wednesday to his camp. I shook Rick's hand, and that was about it for a relationship. Rick and his camp advised me to meet up with him later after the weigh-in. I waited for a couple hours with my girlfriend, rearranged plans and never saw Rick come down to say hello. I had to find him eating in another room with his friends. In fact, his girlfriend was more accommodating and sincere than Rick.

“I will not comment on Rick and his fight. That is not my place. But what I will tell you is this: I took a huge chance with him. TV exposure was great…but it only holds weight if he wins or puts on a good show. Neither happened. At the end of the day…not one sole (sic) will run to the HTFU store and buy product because they saw Rick walk out in my shirt and loose (sic) the fight. I've made it my career and business to know what nets a return on investment for the brand…and this is the No. 1 reason why I DO NOT hand out money or product to fighters.

“With regards to the check I sent Rick: At this point, a stop payment has been placed on the check which cannot be cashed or deposited now.”

Jackson told Teixeira: 'Now I'm your fan'

Glover Teixeira got some true words of encouragement following his win over Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC on FOX 6.

Teixeira said:
"He's a legend in this sport, and I feel great going in there and having that fight with him," Teixeira said. "I stood up with him, took him down, did it all. I feel great about the fight."
"I beat a guy who's been in the top 10 for how long?"

"He's an ex-champ and a tough guy. Like Dana was saying, he was training hard. He was tough. He's so tough. He can take a punch.
"But this win puts me up there. I'm ready to fight anyone."

Teixeira then went on to say Jackson's gave him this message:

"'Now I'm your fan. Go get the title,'"

Dana White followed up with:
"I honestly believe that tonight if Glover was fighting anyone else he would have knocked them out in the first round," he said after the fight. "'Rampage' got hit with that shot, and not only can he punch hard, he can take a punch."

Dana White: Fedor vs Lesnar fight at Cowboys Stadium was 'right there'

“We were right there. When I was talking about doing that big Dallas Texas Stadium show it was going to be Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor Emelianenko. Remember when I met with him and said it didn’t go well? It actually went well. He wanted to fight Fedor. Fedor’s dad passed away and he said “I’m done, I want to spend the rest of my life with my family. We were negotiating for months and then after his dad died and he said “that’s it, I’m done” or whatever, and then Brock said “I’m done, too”. From what I understand, he is absolutely, positively made the decision never to fight again. I mean anything’s possible.”

White was then asked why he didn't announce the fight:
"Cause I don't have to tell you guys everything, you know what I mean? Cause then you guys (the media) starting looking around fishing for shit, shit that I don' t need you fishing for at that time."

On the future of Lesnar, Dana added:
“He’s done. He’s gonna do his stint in WWE, and then go away. He’s got a big farm up and Canada and shit, he loves to farm, he loves to be with his family, and out in the middle of nowhere.”

Then the question of the UFC signing 'The last Emperor" arose:
"From what I understand, he has absolutely, positively made his decision not to fight ever again from what I understand, but I mean, anything's possible. You know, when the guy says he wants to retire, you're never going to see me chasing a guy that says he wants to retire. If you want to retire, you should retire."

UFC on FOX 6 bonuses for 'Johnson vs. Dodson'

Another record was made lastnight when Ryan 'Darth' Bader not only took "Submission of the Night,"  but also the quickest submission victory in the UFC light heavyweight division with his 50-second guillotine choke over Vladimir Matyushenko.

"Knockout of the night" went to Anthony Pettis, who's Liver Kick was labeled 'AMAZING' by Dana White.

"Fight of the night" went to the main bout Johnson & Dodson who gave the fans the fight they were promised, and saw 'Mighty Mouse' defend his belt for the first time, where he walked away with the decision victory.

Philippou calls out Michael Bisping

Speaking to BJPenn dot com, Constantinos Philippou said:

"I know the UFC doesn’t usually like matching up someone coming off a loss with somebody coming off of a win. In this case it’s a big difference because Bisping is Bisping and he’s been around forever. The guy has fought a who’s who of MMA, I think it works out well for both of us. He gets to fight in his hometown against somebody who is in the Top 5 or Top 10 who has five wins in a row. If he beats me he’ll be right in the mix again and if I beat him I’m right up there too. I think it’s something for him to think about. The guy is a striker who is willing to strike and I’m willing to strike, it’ll make for an exciting fight. If I was him I would take the fight.”

“Being that it would be in his hometown, they wouldn’t have to try and sell the fight. The arena would be sold out in no time, all the tickets would be sold immediately. Bisping is a national hero over there and I wouldn’t mind beating him in his hometown.”

Judge Denies Eddie Alvarez Injunction To Sign With The UFC

Both sides appeared in NY court on Fri 25th January,as Alvarez sought a preliminary injunction against Bellator, so that he may seek a contract with Zuffa.
Judge Jose L. Linares. offered his ruling , refuting Alvarez’ defense teams claim by telling them they failed to properly demonstrate that the former champ would be irreparably harmed if he was unable to sign with the UFC.
The documents were released by the U.S. District Court.

"As to the first prong, the Court is not satisfied that Alvarez has demonstrated areasonable probability of success on the merits by virtue of Bellator’s purported failure to matchZuffa’s offer. The crux of Alvarez’s argument is that Bellator’s failure to provide an identicallymatching contract amounts to a failure to match. This argument, however, is untenable. Obviously, in any contract that Bellator would match, it would have to change certain words. For example, it would have to substitute its name for that of Zuffa. If, as Alvarez claims,Bellator’s substituting its name for that of Zuffa amounts to a failure to match, Bellator would never be able to match the terms of any contract, and thus its right of first refusal would amount to no right at all. 1See, e.g., Travelers Indem. Co. v. Damman & Co., Inc., 594 F.3d 238, 255(3d Cir. 2010) (“We must also endeavor to avoid ignoring certain words or reading the contractin such a way as to make any words ‘meaningless.’”). This Court must apply a common-sense interpretation to the word “match.” See id. Applying this approach, the Court declines to hold that in order to “match” the Zuffa contract, Bellator had to include identical words in its matching offer.

In this case, there is no illegal restraint that Bellator is seeking to impose on Alvarez, noris Alvarez precluded from competing professionally absent a grant of his application for apreliminary injunction. It is speculative to suggest, as Alvarez does, that an inability to competein the April 27 event will result in irreparable harm in the form of a lost opportunity to obtainnotoriety, endorsements, and a wider exposure to viewers. Alvarez’s argument requires thisCourt to make speculative assumptions about what might or might not happen as a result of hisparticipation in the April 27 event. Based on the record before it, the Court cannot make such aassumptions."
