A lightweight showdown has been added to the upcoming Strikeforce: "Fedor vs. Henderson" event on July 30 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, as Gesias Cavalcante has been booked to throw leather against Lyle Beerbohm.
That's according to a tweet sent out by the promotion earlier today.
Cavalcante's thumbs are apparently okay after the their vicious encounter with Justin Wilcox's eyes just a few weeks ago at the "Overeem vs. Werdum" event in Dallas.
The eventual result of the bout was a no contest, leaving "JZ" with just one win since Sept. 2007.
At least his complaints of inactivity have not gone unnoticed and he's been booked to fight in consecutive months against two very game opponents.

Lyle Beerbohm was all the rage throughout the first three years of his mixed martial arts career, compiling an impressive 16-0 record with various regional promotions across the United States.
Then he ran into Pat Healy and got worked before getting his neck cranked by Shinya Aoki.
That's two in a row and while Strikeforce doesn't employ the same "three-and-out" policy typically instituted by UFC, a three-fight losing streak may very well be the kiss of death.
Strikeforce on July 30 will feature a a mega match-up pitting legendary Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko taking on Light Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson.
